About Us

Dr.N.Chandrasekaran, M.B.B.S.
Dr.N.Chandrasekaran, M.B.B.S., is one of the world’s most experienced yoga therapist, a western medical doctor, international trainer and author. In 2010 he founded the Yoga Vaidya Śālā after more than a decade heading the Yoga Therapy Department at the Krisnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) in Chennai. In that role he conducted consultations with more than 15,000 students, with a wide range of health problems, prescribing individual practices for each. Dr N.Chandrasekaran (Dr.N.C.) has been a practising allopathic medical physician for almost thirty years and completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga in 1990. From 1991 he acted as a consultant-teacher, and from 2001 held the position of Director of Therapy at the KYM. Dr NC’s experience in medicine and in the yogic healing process enables him to practice and to present an astonishingly effective blend of the western medical system with eastern traditional wisdom, helping people with a wide range of health problems.He has taught in numerous international teacher training and continuing education programs as well as training numerous senior yoga teachers in the specialised field of yoga therapy. DR NC has authored a series of books on the practice of Yoga Therapy that are are set to become a standard reference for serious practitioners in the area.
Dr.N.Chandrasekaran, M.B.B.S.

Dr.Siddharthan MBBS, Diploma in Yoga, PG Diploma in Yoga Therapy, is the son and student of Dr. N. Chandrasekaran, Founder, Yoga Vaidya Sala, Chennai. He has completed Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Tamil Nadu Medical Council and has been practising Allopathy Medicine for the past six years. He has learnt the Srsti krama vinyasa (Krishnamacharya tradition) from the age of eight and is now conducting seminars and classes on Srsti Krama regularly. He is also actively involved in the practice of yoga therapy.

Dr.Siddharthan is the Managing Director of Yoga Vaidya Sala and is assisting Dr. N C in his teachings of both Indian and International students.

Ms.Harini

Mrs. Harini Chandrasekaran holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Madras University and has undergone Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Therapist Training at Yoga Vaidya Śāla (YVS) in Chennai. This blend of academic psychology and specialised training in yoga equips her to offer holistic approaches to wellness as a counselling psychologist, yoga teacher, and yoga therapist.

Yoga Vaidya Śāla stands as an advanced centre for higher education in yoga, yoga therapy, and Vedanta. With its offerings of Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Therapist Training courses in multiple countries including India, France, Belgium, Australia, and England, along with its wide array of seminars and workshops on yoga-related subjects, it serves as a global hub for spreading knowledge and fostering growth in the field of yoga and holistic wellness.

Dr. N. Chandrasekaran (Dr. N. C), drawing from his tutelage under esteemed masters at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram and his decade-long tenure as the Director of the Therapy Department, established Yoga Vaidya Śāla in Chennai. His wealth of experience and expertise laid the foundation for this centre of learning, which continues to uphold the principles of yoga and therapy with dedication and excellence.

Ms. C. Harini, as the daughter and disciple of Dr. N. Chandrasekaran, has received her training in yoga and therapy directly under her father's guidance. Over the past five years, she has been actively involved in Yoga Vaidya Śāla, serving as a teacher, therapist, and Vedic chant instructor. Her extensive experience includes traveling to numerous countries alongside her father, assisting in the organisation and facilitation of seminars and workshops, thereby contributing significantly to the global outreach and impact of their work.

Harini's passion lies in teaching Vedic chanting and Śrsti Krama, a distinctive approach to teaching yoga to children. This focus showcases her commitment to preserving traditional practices and adapting them to benefit younger generations. Additionally, her role as a wife and mother adds depth to her journey, reflecting her ability to balance personal and professional responsibilities while continuing to contribute to the field of yoga and holistic wellness.
